Bicol region has so many beaches to offer. One of which is famous for where the current Survivor Series is hosted right now, another emerging hotspot in the Philippines, dubbed as “The Next Rival of Boracay”, Caramoan Island. Another yet equally popular is the Calaguas Island which can be found in Daet, Camarines Norte.
But if you are simply looking for what’s just near the city, without having travel long journeys, then Pasacao is for you. Pasacao is around 30-45 minute drive from Naga City, you can actually mix it with a trip to CWC.
Pasacao offers not white but ivory sand beaches. It may not be as good as it is in Boracay, Palawan or the other famous destinations in the country but like I said, if you want a quiet place without having to go far away from the city, you will find this a good place. 1 thing I liked about it is that this is not a very crowded place and price is not as high as it is back in North Luzon.
Daruanak Island
The island offers both white and some amount of black sands (as in charcoal black). I knew I should have taken photo of its sands as sample. Man, I wish I could turn back time.
Daruanak is a must-see, I strongly suggest you see the place since this won’t cost you much anyway, the locals are charging at a very cheap rate of 300 pesos boat rental since this is not really far away. The island is ideal for overnight campers, though merely a hill you can climb up, if you know at least basic experience in trekking/hiking.
Side Trip to the Hot Spring
For an additional P300, we were offered by our boatman a side trip to the hot spring. So we headed there next after Daruanak. Landing to pebbles beach, we reach the hot spring after just a couple of minutes coming from Daruanak.
Here are some of our photos at the Pebbles Beach.
